Hi friend — I’m Hollis, the “Mama” behind Mama & Moana, and I’m so glad you’re here.
This is my first official post (deep breath!), so consider this our little porch-side introduction — you, me, a cup of coffee, and maybe a few chickens clucking in the background.
1. Who We Are
I’m a farm girl at heart — born and raised in the high desert of Southern Oregon — now raising my daughter, Sofiamoana, on the same soil that once raised me. After years of living near the ocean and building a coaching business in Mexico, life (and God) called me home.Here, I get to blend everything I love: faith, farm life, motherhood, healing, and laughter. Together, Moana and I care for our chickens, collect eggs, craft handmade goods, and share stories from this sacred little slice of land we call home.

2. What This Blog Is About
This space is where I share the real stuff — reflections on faith, motherhood, healing, and the funny, messy beauty of everyday life.Some posts will be lighthearted (because you can’t raise chickens or a child without a sense of humor). Others will be deeply personal — about my faith journey, my near-death illness and recovery, or the lessons God keeps teaching me about grace, forgiveness, and purpose.You can expect posts that encourage you to slow down, laugh more, and trust that whatever season you’re in — it’s shaping you for something beautiful.
3. Why I’m Writing
After everything I’ve lived through, I’ve learned this: when we share our stories, someone else finds healing too.I write to remind others that life is a sacred circle — that God weaves purpose through both the joy and the hardship. And if my words, my chickens, or even one of our eggs brings a smile or a spark of hope to your day — then I’m doing what I was meant to do.
